What house cleaning costs in Michigan City and Long Beach

Michigan City is about 35 miles from Valparaiso, the far end of where I keep regular clients, and the drive is already counted in every figure below. No mileage line shows up later.

What it costs by size

In Michigan City, cleaned every two weeks:

• 2 bed, 1 bath, about 1,100 sq ft: around $235
• 3 bed, 2 bath, about 1,800 sq ft: around $305
• 4 bed, 2.5 bath, about 2,900 sq ft: around $375
• 5 bed, 3.5 bath, about 3,600 sq ft: priced when I have seen photos of it

Long Beach prices on its own

Long Beach shares 46360 with Michigan City, but the homes along Lake Shore Drive are larger, closer to the water and full of glass that salt air films over between visits. The 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom example is about $350 every two weeks there, and about $650 for the first deep clean.

The first visit

The first clean is the thorough one, inside the fridge and oven included, along with trim by hand, blinds, vents and window tracks. In Michigan City the 1,800 square foot home is about $555 for it, or $500 when a regular schedule follows. You pay for it once.

Lake homes that sit empty

Plenty of homes here, Long Beach and Duneland Beach especially, are used on weekends and closed for the winter. Cleaning one every two weeks while nobody is there wastes your money. An opening clean in spring, a closing clean in fall and a clean before the weekends you come up usually serve it better, and I will price that plan if you tell me how the home is used.

One person, me, who knows where the spare key lives and which window sticks. I clean to the same written nine steps every time, leave a note after each visit so you know how the home is without driving over, and come back free if something was missed. Nothing is charged before the work is done.
