The move out clean, and the five things they actually check
A move out clean in Northwest Indiana costs roughly $300 to $650 depending on home size, about $545 for 1,800 square feet. It differs from a regular clean by including inside every cabinet and drawer, inside the oven and refrigerator, inside closets, all interior windows and every baseboard. Whoever inspects the property almost always checks the same five things: inside the oven and fridge, inside cabinets and drawers, window tracks, baseboards and corners, and behind the toilet.
Somebody is going to walk this house with a list. Usually a landlord, an agent or a buyer doing a final inspection. After enough of these you learn that they all check the same handful of things, and that everything else is largely a formality.
The five that decide it
- Inside the oven and inside the refrigerator. Always, and first.
- Inside cabinets and drawers, including the corners and the runners.
- Window tracks and sills, which is where most cleans stop.
- Baseboards and the corners of every floor.
- The toilet base and directly behind it.
Get those five right and the walkthrough passes. Miss two and it does not matter how good the floors look.
What is not part of it
Carpet shampoo or steam, exterior windows, wall washing beyond spot cleaning, paint touch-up, debris hauling and appliance removal are separate trades. If your lease requires professional carpet cleaning, that is a carpet company, and it is better to know that a week out than the morning of.
Timing
Book it for after the movers are gone and before the walkthrough, with at least a day of slack. An empty house cleans far faster than a full one, and a same-day booking sandwiched between a moving truck and an inspection is how things get missed.
